The agreement every affiliate accepts: how commission is earned and paid, what is not allowed, and our promise that if we change the offer, everyone you have already referred keeps the deal you were promised.
WorkBOS Affiliate Programme Terms
In plain terms - before the full detail below, here is what you're agreeing to:
- You earn commission when someone you referred pays WorkBOS, for as long as the commission terms in force at the time say so.
- The exact percentage, time window, minimum payout and payment schedule are published on the programme page and shown in your affiliate dashboard - they can change, but referrals you already made keep the deal that applied when you made them.
- No commission on people who were already WorkBOS customers or already talking to our sales team before your link touched them, and no commission on yourself.
- Play fair: no bidding on our brand name in ads, no spam, no cookie stuffing, no pretending to be us.
- Commission is pending until the refund window closes, then approved, then paid out when you request a withdrawal above the minimum.
- We can suspend or end the programme or your account; fraud forfeits pending commission, but if we end things without cause, we still pay what's already approved.
By joining the WorkBOS Affiliate Programme ("the Programme"), you agree to these Terms in full.
1. Eligibility and acceptance
Anyone may apply to join the Programme, including individuals, freelancers and agencies. We may decline or remove any applicant at our discretion, including where we cannot verify identity or payment details. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Joining the Programme, or accepting a referral link or dashboard access, means you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Programme.
2. Commission
Commission is calculated as a percentage of what a referred customer actually pays WorkBOS for their subscription, for a set period after they first become a paying customer. The percentage and the length of that period are set out in the commission terms published on the programme page and shown in your affiliate dashboard. As of the version date of these Terms, the published rate is 30% of every payment for the customer's first 24 months as a paying customer - that number is an example of the terms currently in force, not a fixed promise in this document.
Commission is only earned once the customer has actually paid us - an invoice being issued, or a trial converting, is not enough on its own. If a payment fails, is refunded, or is charged back, no commission is earned on it (see Section 10). One-time fees, taxes collected on behalf of a tax authority, and any amounts we refund are excluded from the commission calculation.
3. Attribution
We attribute a sale to the affiliate whose tracked link was the last one clicked by that visitor within the attribution window published on the programme page and shown in your affiliate dashboard (currently 90 days from the click, as of the version date of these Terms). If a visitor clicks links from more than one affiliate before signing up, the affiliate with the most recent qualifying click gets the commission - earlier clicks are overwritten. If a visitor clears cookies, switches devices, or otherwise breaks our tracking before they sign up, we may not be able to attribute the sale to you, and we are not responsible for lost attribution caused by browser or device behaviour outside our control.
4. Existing customers and active sales conversations
You do not earn commission on anyone who was already a WorkBOS customer at the time of the click, or who was already in an active conversation with our sales team about becoming a customer at that time - for example, someone with an open quote, a scheduled demo, or an ongoing pricing discussion with us. This applies even if your link is the last one clicked. We track sales activity separately from affiliate links precisely to check this, and we will exclude these sales from commission calculations. This is the single most common cause of disputed commission, so please read it carefully before promoting to a list or account you already have a relationship with through us.
5. Self-referral
You do not earn commission on your own WorkBOS account, on any account you own or control, or on any account that shares your name, billing address, or email domain with your affiliate account. This includes signing up a second business you run to generate commission for yourself. We may reverse any commission that we reasonably believe falls into this category.
6. Brand-name paid search
You may not bid on "WorkBOS" or any confusingly similar term or misspelling as a keyword in paid search advertising. You may not use "WorkBOS" or our other trademarks in an ad's title, in a display name, or in a display URL. You may reference WorkBOS in ad body text where accurate and non-misleading (for example, "compatible with WorkBOS"), but you may not create the impression that your ad is our own official ad.
7. Coupon, deal and cashback sites
Coupon sites, deal-listing sites, and cashback or reward sites are not eligible to participate in the Programme unless we have approved your specific site and listing in writing in advance. If you operate this kind of site and want to participate, contact us before running any WorkBOS listing or offer.
8. Spam and misrepresentation
You may not send unsolicited bulk email, text messages, or other unsolicited bulk messaging to promote WorkBOS. You may not make false or misleading claims about the product, its pricing, its features, or its customers. You may not imply that you are WorkBOS, an employee of WorkBOS, or an official WorkBOS partner unless we have agreed that in writing. All promotional claims must be accurate and something you could substantiate if asked.
9. Prohibited technical practices
The following are prohibited and will result in commission reversal and may result in removal from the Programme: cookie stuffing or forcing a tracking cookie onto a visitor who did not knowingly click your link; forced clicks, auto-redirects, or any mechanism that generates a click without a genuine, visible user action; loading our site in a hidden iframe; and automatic pop-ups, pop-unders, or similar techniques designed to generate clicks without informed visitor action.
10. Pending, approved and paid commission
Every commission starts as pending. It becomes approved once the refund window on that payment has passed (currently 30 days, as published on the programme page and shown in your dashboard). Approved commission is paid out when you request a withdrawal, subject to Section 11.
If a payment is refunded or charged back within the clawback window published on the programme page, any commission tied to it is reversed while it is still pending or approved, and it is removed from your available balance. A commission that has already been paid out to you is not reclaimed from your later earnings - we absorb it. We may take repeated refunds on referrals from the same source into account when reviewing your participation under Section 15.
11. Withdrawals
You may request a withdrawal once your approved balance reaches the minimum published on the programme page and shown in your dashboard (currently $50, as of the version date of these Terms). A withdrawal is not automatic: you request it, and we review and pay approved requests by hand rather than on a fixed processing date, aiming for the cadence stated on the programme page. Payment is made by bank transfer, PayPal, or Wise, at your choice, subject to what is available in your country. We will not release a payment until any required tax documentation under Section 12 is complete and on file.
12. Tax
You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes owed on commission you receive. Before we release payment, we may require you to complete tax documentation appropriate to your situation, such as a Form W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, or a valid VAT number. We may withhold payment until this documentation is provided and, where required by law, may withhold tax from your payment.
13. Dormant balances
If your account has a balance below the withdrawal minimum and shows no referral activity for an extended period (12 months or more), we will attempt to contact you using the details on file to confirm your account and payment information are current. Your balance is held, not forfeited, while we do this - we do not charge any administrative or maintenance fee against unclaimed balances, and the balance remains yours to withdraw once it reaches the minimum and your details are confirmed.
14. Changing these terms, and grandfathering
We may change the commission rate, attribution window, minimum withdrawal, payment schedule, or other commercial terms of the Programme at any time, with notice published on the programme page and reflected in your dashboard.
Here is our commitment on this point: every customer you have already referred keeps the commission terms that were in force at the moment they were referred, for the entire duration of that referral - even if we later change the terms for new referrals. A rate change, for example, never reduces commission on a customer you already brought in. This grandfathering applies automatically and does not need to be requested.
Changes to non-commercial terms (such as the prohibited-practices or dispute sections of this document) apply to all affiliates going forward from the date they are published, since they don't affect the value of a specific referral.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your participation in the Programme for cause - including breach of these Terms, fraud, or any of the prohibited practices in Sections 6 through 9 - with immediate effect and without notice. In that case, any commission still pending at the time of termination is forfeited.
We may also terminate the Programme, or your participation in it, without cause, by giving you 30 days' notice. In that case, we will still pay out any commission that was already approved as of the termination date, on the normal payment schedule; only commission still pending as of that date is forfeited, since the refund window on those payments has not yet closed.
16. Advertising and marketing law compliance
You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your own promotional activity, including FTC disclosure requirements (or the equivalent in your jurisdiction) for affiliate and sponsored content, anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM, and data protection laws such as the GDPR where they apply to how you collect or use visitor data. You must clearly disclose your affiliate relationship with WorkBOS wherever required by applicable law.
17. Tracking records and disputes
Our tracking system is the authoritative record of clicks, attribution, and commission for the Programme. If you believe a referral was recorded incorrectly, contact us with the details (the referred customer, the approximate date, and the link or channel used) within 60 days of the transaction in question. We will review our tracking data and respond with our findings.
18. Independent contractor and non-exclusivity
You participate in the Programme as an independent contractor, not as an employee, partner, or agent of WorkBOS. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, a partnership, or an agency relationship between you and us. Your participation is non-exclusive: you are free to promote other products, including competing products, alongside WorkBOS.
19. Confidentiality and describing the relationship
You may describe yourself publicly as a WorkBOS affiliate or partner, and may use factual, approved marketing material we provide. You may not disclose non-public information we share with you, such as unreleased commission structures, unpublished product plans, or reporting data about other affiliates or customers. You may not claim a closer relationship with WorkBOS than the one described in these Terms (for example, claiming to be an employee, reseller of record, or official spokesperson) without our written agreement.
20. Indemnity, liability, and governing law
You agree to indemnify WorkBOS against any claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your promotional activity. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkBOS's total liability to you under the Programme is limited to the commission actually owed and unpaid at the time of the claim, and WorkBOS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. The Programme is operated by Shahzad and Rainer, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of New Hampshire, United States. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, and any dispute arising from them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire.
