Why this exists
What it does
Each asset records a type (digital, physical, software, domain or other), the company it belongs to, the person who holds it, when it was acquired, its value and currency, and whether it is active, retired or sold.
Each liability records a type (loan, credit card, payable, accrued or other), the lender, the principal, the balance, the interest rate, start and due dates, and its status. A new one can post its opening entry to a linked ledger account.
Domains shows what you own, its estimated worth, what you spend per month and per year, what renews soon and anything at real risk, such as a domain that expired with auto-renew off. Type a name and the public ownership record fills in the registrar, dates and nameservers.
An estimate from written rules, the same factors professional appraisers weigh, with a low-to-high range and a card listing every factor. A figure you type yourself always wins.
Numbers & codes records toll-free, vanity and local numbers your business holds as assets: the carrier, what each costs, what has been paid so far, when it renews and what it is used for.
The honest part
The part you would otherwise find out in week three. If one of these is central to how you work, raise it before you buy rather than after.
Questions
No. The asset and liability registers are records you keep. The only thing that touches the ledger is the optional opening entry when you create a liability with a principal and a linked account.
It reads the public ownership record when you type the name: registrar, registration and expiry dates, and nameservers. You can correct anything it finds, and look it up again on demand.
Not necessarily. Numbers & codes is the register of numbers you own as assets. The numbers your team answers live in the phone system, and a number can be in both.
