Why this exists

The QR code on ten thousand flyers points at a page that got renamed last week.
Nobody can say whether the poster by the till has ever actually been scanned.
A static code generator hands you a picture and nothing else once it is printed.

What it does

Create a code in seconds

Give it a name, a permanent short link (/q/your-slug) and a destination, any https:// URL or an in-app path like /booking, pick a colour, preview it live, and download a print-ready PNG.

Retarget it after it is already printed

Edit the destination and the same printed code immediately points somewhere new, with nothing to reprint. Pause a code to switch it off without deleting it.

Track every scan

A running total per code, plus a recent-scan feed with the time, a coarse device class and the referring host, exportable to CSV. No personal data is captured.

Warn a scanner before sending them off-platform

When a code’s destination is not a WorkBOS page, the scan shows the exact link and asks for a tap to continue rather than redirecting instantly, so a destination changed to somewhere unexpected cannot catch anyone off guard.

Keep creating and deleting safe

Creating, editing and deleting a code follow your workspace’s own per-page rules, enforced by the database rather than only hidden in the screen. Deleting a code permanently kills its printed link.

What it does not do

The part you would otherwise find out in week three. If one of these is central to how you work, raise it before you buy rather than after.

A destination has to be an https:// address or an in-app path. There is no support for encoding plain text, Wi-Fi credentials or a contact card directly into the code.
Scan tracking is a count, a coarse device class and a referring host. There is no visitor-level tracking, and nothing personal is ever captured.
Deleting a code is permanent. Once it is gone, the short link it printed stops resolving for good, with no way to bring it back.
The public scan page is rate-limited, so an unusually large burst of legitimate traffic on one code can be throttled along with abuse, the same as any other public link in WorkBOS.
