HR software usually ends where accounting begins, so payroll becomes a monthly export and a manual journal entry. WorkBOS runs recruiting through to the pay register, and the pay run posts real journal entries to the same ledger your accountant reads.
Candidate tracking, onboarding checklists and payroll live in three tools and one shared drive.
Every pay run ends with somebody retyping totals into the accounts.
Attendance and leave are a spreadsheet nobody trusts by the end of the quarter.
Every capability below is enforced on the server, not a demo screenshot. Anything that needs a paid plan says so on the card rather than leaving you to find out at checkout.
Bring in your people records and set up leave types and working patterns.
Build one onboarding template and run your next starter through it.
Run a pay period in parallel with your current process and compare the journal entries.
Each comparison opens by saying where the other product is the better choice, because that is the half of a comparison worth reading.
No, and we will not let the page imply it. It is a pay register: it computes gross from salary or hours, applies deductions an admin types, produces payslips and posts the journal entries. Statutory tax calculation, filings and direct deposit are not in it. Teams run it alongside a provider or their accountant.
Check-in in the app, and on Pro and above biometric attendance: face verification computed on the person’s own device and matched on the server, a passkey thumb, fingerprint and face terminals, or a tablet kiosk with per-person codes. Workspace policy decides which methods count, with geofencing and consent-based enrollment each person can revoke.
Roles and per-page create, edit and delete rules are enforced in the database, not hidden in the interface, and the people and money modules are covered today. The roles editor marks any page where a setting is not yet enforced rather than pretending. The advanced role controls and the audit log that goes with them are an Enterprise capability.
