Bulk SMS campaigns

Campaigns send from a number you own and have registered for marketing messages where you are: 10DLC in the United States, and the equivalent scheme in other countries. Buy the number with your own carrier account, get it registered under your country or state rules, then connect that carrier account under Phone > Settings and add the number. Until it is in, you can write and save campaigns but not start one, and the Campaigns tab says so at the top rather than waiting until you press Start.

A campaign texts a chosen slice of your leads once, on a schedule you set, in their local working hours, with every guard the single-send path already has and three more that only matter in bulk. You pick the audience by lead status and owner, write one message with merge fields, and the system paces the send rather than firing thousands of texts in a minute.

  1. 1

    1. Choose who it goes to

Filter by lead status and owner. The count updates as you change the filter, and it is the count of real reachable people: one per distinct phone number, with anyone on your STOP list already removed. Nobody is messaged twice by the same campaign, whatever spelling their number is stored in.

  2. 2

    2. Write it once

Merge fields fill in each recipient’s own details. A field that cannot be filled for somebody does NOT send them a half-written message: that one recipient is recorded as not sent, with the reason in plain words, and the rest go out. The first message to any number carries the opt-out line automatically unless your own text already explains how to stop.

  3. 3

    3. Set the window and the pace

Quiet hours are set in the campaign’s own timezone and are honoured every minute of the send, including a window that runs from evening into the morning. A daily cap limits how many go out per day. Both are re-checked continuously, not only when you press start.

  4. 4

    4. Watch it, and stop it

A campaign can be paused at any point and resumed later. It pauses itself, with the reason on the card, if your monthly spend cap is reached, if your provider configuration is removed, or if the carrier lane it needs is not ready.

The consent, spend and carrier checks are re-asked on every tick rather than once at the start, so downgrading a plan, hitting a spend cap or losing a provider stops the send within the minute instead of at the end of it. Someone who replies STOP mid-campaign is removed from the rest of it.
