Finance: overviews, all spending and account ledgers

Three overview pages give you the picture before the detail. **Money in overview** (Finance ▸ Money in overview) shows what you invoiced and what you received in the period you pick, what is still waiting to be paid and what is overdue, a month-by-month chart of invoiced against received, how old your unpaid invoices are, your top customers and your income by category. **Money out overview** (Finance ▸ Money out overview) shows what you spent, bills waiting to be paid, overdue bills, bills due in the next seven days, expense claims still owed to staff, spending by month and by category, your top suppliers and how old your unpaid bills are. **Products overview** shows how many products and services are active, what you sold in the period, your stock value, items out of stock, your best sellers and the items that did not sell. Every figure and every row can be clicked to open the records behind it, every page has a date picker (this month, last month, this quarter, this year, last 12 months, all dates or your own dates), and every page follows the company you have picked in the company switcher.

**All spending** (Finance ▸ All spending) lists every cost the business has recorded in one place, whatever it came from: bills, bank-feed payments, card charges imported from a provider such as Wix, expense claims, payroll and manual entries. Filter it by dates, category, source and company, search it, group it by category, source, company or month, see the totals and the biggest categories at the top, and export it to a spreadsheet. Each cost opens the document or ledger entry it came from.

**Account ledgers.** In Finance ▸ General Ledger ▸ Chart of Accounts, click any account name to open its ledger: the balance it started the period with, every posted line with the running balance after it, and the balance it ended with. Change the dates, the company or the account from the bar at the top, search the lines, narrow them by type of document, and export them to a spreadsheet. Each line opens the invoice, bill or journal entry behind it. The Journal tab can also be filtered by dates, source and text, and exported. A ledger opened from a report row (Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet) keeps that report’s exact dates and company, so its total always matches the figure you clicked.
