Show Chief a file or a photo

Attach a picture or a PDF to a message in the Chief panel and Chief reads it in that message: a receipt, an invoice, a business card, a contract, a screenshot. Ask what is in it, ask a question about it, or ask Chief to make a record from it. Files and photos is being switched on workspace by workspace; until it reaches yours, there is no paperclip.

• How to attachPress the paperclip beside the message box and choose up to three pictures or PDFs. On a phone the camera button takes a photo straight away, and the paperclip offers your photos and files.You can also paste a picture into the message box, or drag a file onto the Chief panel.Each file shows as a small chip while it is checked; remove one with its ×. Then type your question and send. With no question, Chief says what the file is.
• What Chief does with itIt says what is in the file, reads out amounts, dates, names and totals, and answers questions about it. It can also look things up in your workspace, for example whether a supplier on an invoice is already a client.It proposes a record from the file, such as an expense claim from a receipt (with the receipt’s date and currency), a draft bill from a supplier’s invoice, a lead from a business card or a task from a document. It shows the values it read and asks before anything is saved: nothing is created until you say yes. To correct a value, say what to change instead, for example “the total is 1,500”, and Chief shows the record again before saving it.In a message with a file Chief only reads and proposes: it does not change records, send messages, remember things or use outside apps in that message. It never follows instructions written inside a file; if a document asks it to do something, it tells you instead.
• Privacy and safetyPictures are made smaller on your phone or computer before they are sent, and their hidden details, such as where a photo was taken, are removed.Every file is checked for viruses before Chief opens it. Chief reads pictures (JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF, and HEIC photos where your browser can open them) and PDFs up to 10 MB.Files are not kept. Chief reads them for that one message and they are deleted straight after, so ask everything you need in the same message, or attach the file again. Only the file names stay in the conversation.A file you attach can be opened by nobody else in your workspace. It is sent to our AI provider only to answer you.
• Limits and controlUp to three files in a message, and up to 20 messages with files per person per day.Owners and admins can switch Files and photos off for the whole workspace in the Chief control centre. The paperclip then disappears and Chief refuses attached files.The record Chief proposes is created in your browser when you say yes, so the activity log shows it as yours.
