Your top bar
The cluster of icons at the top right is yours to arrange. It holds the tools you reach for without leaving the page you are on, and you choose which ones appear and in what order.

Customise it
Point at the three dots at the end of the bar (or move keyboard focus to it) and the tools group opens beside it; click the dots to pin it open for good. Then click the sliders icon at the end of the group. Switch any tool on or off, move it left or right, or reset the whole bar to its default. Your choice is saved for the browser you set it in. Only the dots open the group - every other icon in the bar is a plain button, so the row no longer grows under your pointer while you are aiming at something.

Every tool has its own colour
Chief is a filled accent button with its name beside it on a wide screen, because it is the one tool here that does work for you rather than showing you something. The rest carry a colour that tells you what kind of thing they are without reading the glyph: the phone is green, Quick add is blue, timers are amber, chat is cyan, What’s new is pink, requests are orange, the notice board is teal and notifications are red. All of them invert for dark mode.

What lives there
Search, Chief, the softphone, Quick add, your timer, the team’s running timers, team chat, What’s new, light/dark, requests, the notice board and notifications. Chief and the softphone used to be floating buttons that followed you around the screen; they are buttons in the bar now, and the panels they open hang neatly underneath them.

Quick add
Create a task, lead, deal, client, project, invoice, meeting, document, form, ticket or any of twenty other things without navigating first. Pick what you want, name it, and you land straight on it. It creates records exactly the way Chief does, with the same permission checks, so nothing skips a rule.

Anything you hide keeps working
Switching a tool off only removes the icon. Its counter keeps running in the background, and its unread rolls up onto the collapsed tools button, so nothing goes unnoticed because you tidied up.
Two things cannot be hidden, and both are for your protection rather than our tidiness. Search stays, because it is the only way to reach a page whose menu entry your role does not show. And the softphone comes back on its own whenever a call is live or ringing, whatever you have chosen, because a call you cannot hang up is worse than an icon you did not want.
The phone tells you when something arrives. An incoming call rings and the icon flashes; a new text chimes once and flashes for twelve seconds, and it keeps flashing while you move around the app rather than stopping the moment you change page. If your computer is set to reduce motion, the flashing is replaced by the colour and the dot alone - you still see it, it just holds still.
On a phone, or with WorkBOS installed as an app, every panel that opens from this bar fits the screen you actually have and scrolls inside itself. If you saw menus cut off at the bottom before, that is what was wrong.
