Approvals: internal requests and client sign-offs

Work > Approvals holds two different queues on one screen. The top half is internal: requests raised inside your workspace that are waiting for a decision from an owner, an admin or a named approver. The bottom half is client sign-offs: things you have sent out to a client through the client portal, waiting for them. The menu link is shown to owners and admins, and what anybody actually sees is decided by the server: your own requests, anything assigned to you, and, if you are an owner or admin, everything.

• Internal requests: approve or reject, with an optional note that the requester will see. The requester can cancel their own request while it is still pending. Everyone involved is notified.
• Nobody can approve their own request, including owners and admins. It is refused by the server with a plain sentence, not merely hidden. Cancel it or ask somebody else.
• What raises an internal request today: vendor subscriptions. When somebody asks for a subscription, it waits here, and approving it activates the subscription. Nothing else in WorkBOS files a request into this queue yet, so an empty page usually means exactly what it says.
• Client sign-offs: "Request client sign-off" asks a client to approve something on a project, with a title, the detail they need, an optional deadline, a priority, an optional amount when it approves a cost, and a reference such as a version number. The client decides it in their portal; your staff cannot approve it for them.
• You can cancel a sign-off while it is pending. Once the client has decided, cancelling is refused and WorkBOS tells you to reload to see who decided and when, rather than failing quietly.

Client sign-offs need the Client portal feature on your plan. The counters at the top count what you are allowed to see, so an owner and a member looking at the same workspace will see different totals, and that is the permissions working rather than a fault. This page is not the same as Agent Approvals, which is where actions proposed by AI agents wait for a human.
