Your profile & account
Everything about your own account lives in one place: open Users and click your own name to open your detail page. The tabs across the top are your personal control panel.
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Profile | Your name, job title / designation, phone and photo. This is how teammates see you. |
| Access & roles | Your role and permissions (managed by an admin). You can see exactly what you are allowed to do. |
| Connect your own sending address, hold more than one, and switch which one your mail goes out as from the Sending tab of Communication ▸ Email. You can only connect an address of your own if your workspace owner has allowed it, and that starts switched off - see “Email: connect an account and switch senders.” | |
| Notifications | Switch your optional alerts on or off, choose whether they also arrive by email (every notification, one daily digest, or none) and what hour the digest is sent. Required ones are set by your admin and are locked. Settings ▸ Your alerts is the same control. |
| Security | Change your password: enter your current password, then your new one twice. |
| Activity | A log of your recent actions in the workspace. |

Change your password
Users ▸ your name ▸ Security. Type your current password, then your new password twice, and Update. You stay signed in.
- 2
Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)
Open Settings ▸ your profile ▸ the Security · Two-factor authentication card ▸ Enable 2FA. Scan the QR code in an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy) and enter the 6-digit code to confirm, after that you enter a fresh code at each sign-in. Owners and admins can require 2FA for admins or for everyone from the same card. Locked out (lost your device)? An owner or admin can reset your 2FA from Users ▸ (your name) ▸ Access ▸ Reset 2FA, then you sign in with your password and set it up again.
- 3
Connect your email
Open Communication ▸ Email ▸ Sending and add the address you want to send from, then confirm it. Sign in with Google, Zoho or Fastmail, or add a plain mail-server address; WorkBOS proves you own it (a Google sign-in confirms every alias Google already vouches for in one step) before anything can send from it. Confirmed addresses then sit together on that same Sending tab, where one click changes which of them your mail goes out as. You can only connect an address of your own if your workspace owner has allowed it, and that starts switched off - until then everything you send goes out under the workspace’s own address. See “Email: connect an account and switch senders” for the whole picture.
- 4
Set your photo
Users ▸ your name ▸ Profile ▸ Upload photo. A square image looks best.
Your email password and SMTP secrets are stored encrypted on the server and are never displayed back to you or anyone else. You will see “•••• (unchanged)” when a password is saved.
Every Settings tab has its own address. Switching tab updates the link in your browser, so refresh keeps you where you were, Back returns to the previous tab instead of leaving the page, and you can copy the link to send somebody straight to the tab you are looking at.
